About gamesART by Philipp

gamesART by Philipp creates 3D-printable sci-fi models for tabletop gaming, with a clear focus on how they are used during play.

The project grew naturally out of long-running tabletop and roleplaying campaigns, a fascination with science fiction, and a sustained interest in modular environments and spaceships. Over time, designing and building models for personal games became a creative focus of its own.

Designed by a tabletop gamer

gamesART models are designed and developed by Philipp, a tabletop gamer and 3D designer.

His background in Tabletop roleplaying games influences how models are approached. Experience with science fiction and digital design shapes the technical side of development. Spaceships are treated as locations where movement and interaction unfold on the table.

Built around gameplay

All gamesART models are designed with tabletop use in mind.

Layouts are built to support movement during play. They also allow encounters to unfold clearly and can be reused across different scenarios. Playable interiors and modular room layouts turn ships and terrain into active elements rather than static pieces.

Models are intended for repeated use within longer campaigns.

Modular systems and long-term use

Modularity is a core design principle at gamesART.

All structural connections use the OpenLOCK clip system. This enables stable glue-free assembly and straightforward reconfiguration. Models can be expanded or rearranged without committing to a fixed layout.

With the MTV Fleet, Gridforge was added as an interior system. Gridforge increases flexibility inside the models. OpenLOCK remains the standard for all load-bearing connections.

The goal is long-term usability. Models are designed to grow with a collection and to adapt to changing scenarios and different game systems.

From campaigns to a growing catalogue

Many gamesART models were first released through crowdfunding campaigns.

This made it possible to develop larger projects step by step. Community feedback helped refine designs over time.

Today, gamesART offers digital STL files for home 3D-printing. Professionally printed models are also available and produced on demand.

A focused creative project

gamesART is intentionally kept small and focused.

This allows each model to be developed with care and tested in actual games. Designs are refined without following short-lived trends or being tied to specific rule systems.

The aim is to create flexible sci-fi models that work across different settings and play styles.
